Welcome To Your Family, Ava Rose!

Well it was a long 9 months but worth every second, for on the morning of July 18th Ava Rose was born.
Yes that is my birthday too and I can't think of a better birthday gift than the most beautiful little baby girl! She was born at 8:29 am with a head full of black hair, 19 1/2 inches long, and weighed 7 lbs 13 oz (Dr. Howells exact estimate). She is a perfect baby, never cries, sleeps a lot, and when she is awake she has a lot of things to say. We are so blessed to have her in our family!

When we left the hospital on Monday we went to pick up Marcus from Pop Pop's. On the ride home he was so excited about his baby sister finally sitting next to him in the back seat. As we passed the train yard he said to her, "Look sister, train goes ding ding ding"! As we pulled into the garage he said to her, "Baby we're home, let's get out". He quickly got out of the car, ran to her side and opened the door saying, "Get out baby, it's hot"! He has been so good with her and loves her so much. He has already tried to share his breakfast with her and change her diaper! He loves to hold her and laughs hysterically when she has the hiccups! He wants so bad to play trains with her!

Grandma Vicki and I worked together on her room concept and it came together perfectly! The room was our office and so we had to do some rearranging to make it serve as both the office and her room. First thing we did was build a computer desk in the closet, Vicki's idea. It turned out great! Then I tackled decorating the room. Tim thinks Vicki and I went a little crazy with the butterflies but I love it and so does Ava! She is up half the night just looking at it!

I can't believe how fast time flies! On July 18th 2004 Tim proposed to me and now 5 years later we have our second child and our little family is complete! I look forward to everyday I have with them!
The calm expecting father!
My last day!
The end result!

To Rawlins We Go...

We went to Rawlins this past weekend. Grandma Vicki had some work she needed done on the apartments and asked Tim to help. It was a great weekend! We stayed at Tim's cousin's house, Jenny & Tim. On Saturday Tim worked for his mom and Marcus and I helped Jenny decorate for a birthday party for her daughter Bryony. Well I helped, Marcus was too busy playing with his cousins!
This is Marcus and his 2nd cousin Hayden.

Grandpa Charlie came down for the afternoon to see us too. Marcus was in the house eating a piece of cake and he heard Charlie's voice, dropped everything and said "It's Charlie!". He ran out the door to see him. You must be high on Marcus' list if he is willing to drop chocolate cake for you Charlie!!

It was a great weekend, the sun was shining and if you can believe it, NO WIND!!!

On Sunday we all went to Grandma's house to help with some little fix it projects. Marcus helped fix the gate with Dad and plant some grass.
It was so nice to get out of GJ and visit family!! We had a great time!! It wore Marcus out!

The Palisade Classic

Well Tim was in his first mountain bike race of the year. The Palisade Classic, it was 35 miles this year and went from the town of Palisade up the Mesa, almost to the top. 6,000 feet of climbing! I would have to say Tim did good even though he did not even come close to matching his 3rd place podium from last year, he did beat the girl that came in last! Not bad for only being on his bike a hand full of times this year!!
Marcus loves to go the the bike races! He shouts at all the riders to "GO, GO, GO, FAST"! Good job Tim! There aren't many people that can dust off there mountain bikes and do a ride like that after being in hibernation all winter!!
We Love You Dad!

Fishing Derby

Yesterday PopPop and Gramie took Marcus to the fishing derby at Gene Taylors. I remember going when I was a kid and I don't remember catching anything. That was not the case for Marcus on this day. He was not to interested in holding the fishing pole still and waiting for the fish. He kept reeling it in and PopPop kept casting it out. Quite some time passed and everyone around us were catching and then Marcus got a bite!

PopPop helped him reel it in and what a whopper! Like those little chocolate covered malt balls I mean!

After that he was not too sure he wanted to do this! But he tried again with dad's help this time.

He caught one more and he was done! Two little fish, not bad for a 2 year old! Thanks PopPop and Gramie! Next time you better bring the boat!

News Flash!

Well it happened! Halliburton laid off 20 more guys yesterday and Tim got the axe! We both thought he was going to make it till the end of summer at least. But on Thursday night he got a call that he had a meeting on Friday at 2:30. He knew right away what that was about but I was hoping it was something else like a promotion! Wish full thinking on my part! I am totally bummed on top of being overly emotional by this all! We did sell Tim's truck yesterday so that is going to help a little, after we pay Uncle Sam!
I know we will be OK. I would just like Tim to find a good job that pays him what he is worth and that makes him happy! Does such a thing exist? Tim has been really solid through all of this, you cant keep a good dog down! Or in Toby's case, you can't even make him hold still for one darn second unless Marcus has him in a choke hold!

We Know you will find something soon dad! We are a strong family and we will get through this! We've been in this spot before but hopefully this is the last time! We just got to keep positive!

It's Just A "Rocky Road"!

Easter Back Flash

Ok so I know Easter was last month....

The day before Marcus and I went to Gramie's to Make chocolate peanutbutter easter eggs for everyone. We has a lot of fun! I really enjoyed decorating all of them, especially Sherman's which had a little white bunny taking a dump! I'll have to see if Gramie has a picture of that one!

The Easter Bunny brought Marcus a dump truck full of goodies! Not sure how he felt about these socks, but he loves to tourcher Toby with the Spiderman ball! Thank you Easter Bunny for all the goodies!!!

We went over to Gramie's and PopPop's for an awesome Easter brunch! Great food mom!! I don't think Marcus ate any though due to all the sugar around! It was raining outside so the Easter Bunny hid eggs in the house. Marcus would not let me, or anyone else, help him except for PopPop! Go figure!
My sisters son Mathew ate too much chocolate I think and just could not move anymore so Marcus joined him on the couch! It was a really great day!
